This thing must have blown right out of the kite eating tree or something. I just don't understand how a nearly 30 year old kite can just show up. This is one of the strangest things I have ever found but pretty cool at the same time. I wonder where this thing even came from to start with. Did any of you out there loose this sometime in 1988?

Wait..what year is it? How is this even possible? somebody explain this to me ...it must have been a time storm!
So we had a very windy couple of days and I noticed some trash was stuck in the trees at the edge of the backyard . As I walked up to it I realized that this was no ordinary trash. This was trash misplaced in time!

Honestly it might have been bought recently. While I have never ever been lucky enough to find properties that I care about, I have found tablecloths and kites at the Dollar Tree from the 80s. So your area might have just got lucky enough to get that in stock or it could have been from some other "cheap" store with old merchandise still available. I have heard of some stores that still have things from the 70s and on for the old prices.
ReplyDeleteOr your proposed theory could be true. After all how odd is it for a kite from the 80s, based on a show about heroes that time travel to prehistoric Earth, to time travel to our present day? Not that odd really! I read it on your blog and everything on the internet is true so it must be REAL!
I like to think its been just stuck in a tree for nearly 30 years lol its so strange , the plastic frame parts just turn to dust when you touch them, I have a feeling that its wasnt a recent thing . And its got like yarn or something as a string. so strange
DeletePlastic gets super brittle ,especially when exposed to the elements for long periods of time. How do I know that?Don't know ,just pulled It outta my arse but It sounds right. The plastic used on Captain Power figures Is notorious for crumbling up like that, out of package. That Is quite the find my friend!
DeleteA good way to find out If it's the real thing.Run your hand across the slimy surface of the kite and then lick a finger. If it's tart and foresty than it's the real thing.
Deleteyeah brittle is what it was its pretty much gone now , it would have lasted longer had it not came into my hands lol and no Im not going to lick it lol its filthy and the paint comes off of it as a white powder
DeleteNope, not mine. Mine had G.I. Joe on it. Can you check your yard for me after the next storm, though?
ReplyDeleteha , yeah seeing that your not far from me it cold be possible.
DeleteUm its new see the trademark? 1988. The current year is 1988 is it not?
ReplyDeleteoh sheesh I wish it was 1988 :/ I was 16 and healthy having a great time with the kb toys clearance bins.
DeleteI predict the Doctor put it there specifically for this post, which if not done would have made the Daleks win a massive war in the future against the remaining Time Lords. That is my prediction and what I am sticking with.
ReplyDeletehey its as good a theory as any ;)
DeleteSo random and cool! Maybe it's related to Charlie Brown's Kite Eating Tree?
ReplyDeleteha that was my though , the kite eating tree barfed and there it was lol
DeleteMy DinoRiders kite just became that much rarer. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love finding cool garbage like this! It's a shame so many cool things go to waste. I didn't even know there were Dino Rider kites made.
