War Planets

The War Planets toy line was made by Trendmasters in 1996 and lasted for a few years. The concept of the toys was a lot like the old Mighty Max sets but on a slightly larger scale .

The items  pictured above are not even close to the complete set and to be honest I dont know exactly how many different set were made. I remember back in 2000 seeing  large quantity's of  these inn the clearance bin at KB Toys but these days they sell for an arm and a leg and have a decent following of collectors.

A cartoon  based on the toy line was also released and ran for 2 season (that I never saw on tv even once)

  1. Never heard of this line. Then again they were too small to get my notice.

    1. I had no interest in them when there were new because I was all wrapped up in DcDirect and Transformers but now I think they work well as background items in action figure displays.

  3. I remember hearing about these. I think they were a little after their time. Imagine if they had come out in the early '80s. Me and my classmates would have gone nuts for them!

    1. I think they would have been a big hit in the 80's.

  4. Still got a couple of these, the Bone Planet and the ENORMOUS Beast Planet, which could "eat" the smaller planets (but frustratingly not the Bone Planet, due to its tentacles).

Never heard of the cartoon before, but the PC game was good - a turn-based strategy game!
