Attack of the Killer Tomatoes was a toy line made by Mattel in 1991. The toys were based off an animated series that ran for 2 seasons on Fox.
The cartoon was based on a 1976 movie of the same name that isn't really as good as the first season of the cartoon but is still worth watching if you haven't seen it .
Oh i remember these Brother M and the cartoon.
ReplyDeleteThey are getting very hard to find these days , When they where new I only saw them at this store named Ben Franklins.
DeleteI saw a few episodes of the cartoon...(with John Astin as the voice of the Mad Scientist) As for the Movie ( other than the "pass the ketchup" quote) The Only good thing about it was the artwork of the Poster...
ReplyDeleteThe movie in my opinion is atrocious but one of those cult movies thats good to see once if for no reason other than being able to know what your talking about if the subject ever comes up.The first season of the cartoon was pretty interesting with the anthology style stores.
DeleteThe only thing I remember from the movie is the song "Puberty Love" which is what killed all the tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteThat might be the most memorable part of that movie.
DeleteThe cartoon had the best theme song ever, and the film's first sequel had George Clooney in it!
ReplyDeleteI only have Ketchuck out of this lot, would love to have the Missing Tomato Link or the Phantomato one day...
The theme song from the show was great!
Deletethose two show up so rarely that its a nightmare to win one on ebay.
I don't suppose you'd consider selling any of these to a desperate collector? I started collecting them again myself and the walking tomatoes are tough to find (especially Missing Tomato Link, who comes with Tara, my fave character from the show). It's a shame these are so hard to come by these days.
