My top 10 most wanted toys.

After doing my top 10 movie list last week I discovered I  enjoy making lists. This list is the top 10 items I want for my toy collection that currently I do not own and probably never will. Every item has a reason why I dont have it  ranging from impossible to find to it cost as much as a car but needless to say these are the items that I lie awake at night thinking about getting lucky and finding in a thrift store or at a yard sale.

10.The Great Garloo manufactured by the Marx toy company in 1961 and  he is just pure greatness ! He was  $18.00 in 1961 but often sells for $500.00 or more today and I just cant afford him.

9.Sharkticon Gnaw I Have had a few of these in my lifetime but always ended up loosing or trading him off.Im not really a big Transformers collector but this guy just looks cool.I dont have him now because he seems to have skyrocketed in price in the past few years and I'm a cheapskate.

8.The Blank This is a very rare figure .Imposable to find and when you dolodate one  it will almost always be over $400.00! He has been keeping me from a complete collection of Dick Tracy figures for years.
7.Giant Sof'Boy He's 24 inches tall limited to 200 pieces and nowhere to be found these days.

6.Big Loo manufactured by Marx toys  for Christmas of 1963. He cost $10.00 back then but can sell for over $2000.00 now.I found this guy in a salvation army thrift store in 1984 for $1.50.I had already begged my mom for a GI Joe Firefly before we went in the salvation army and she made me decide if I wanted to a happy meal or if I wanted a toy that was missing its hand...wish I could go back in time and fix my decision .

5. Peteena made by Hasbro in 1966 .She is strange and uncommon...much like my collecting interests.

4. clash of the titans kraken made in 1981 by Mattel. My parents couldn't find him in the stores when I was little and wanted him for Christmas. I once held  this magnificent beast for a few minutes in 1995. The seller wanted $20.00, I only had $15.00 and he said he would take the $15.00 for it but we were going to go to McDonald's after we left the flee market.... McDonald's my recurring bad decision .

3.TMNT scratch  Hard to find and pricey .I like it but $200.00 is more then I will ever pay.

2. Mr. Machine made by Ideal Toys in 1960 and again in1978. This is one of the earlier toys I can remember having , as time went by he got broke then thrown away. The price isn't incredibly high on him but high enough to make it more than I can justify paying .

1. Shogun Warriors Raydeen Made by Mattel in the late 1970's He is 24 inches tall and the thing I want more then  all the McDonald's food in the world. At this point in my life I would be happy to have any of the 24 inch Shogun Warriors but Raydeen is my favorite .I never had any of the Robots but me and my brother both had a Godzilla ( both from the same salvation army that I saw Big Loo) neither one of them are now in a condition thats worth looking at. I have never came across any Shogun Warriors in the wild but I look at them on ebay all the time and wish I could catch one at buy it now $15.00 .

So thats my list. A few things could have been honorable mentions Like Tako Tank but I have rambled off enough for now.

    1. Thanks.some of these things are a lot older than me but have just as much appeal as the items from my time.

  2. Great list, a lot of stuff I never knew about. My cousin had Raydeen and I had Dragon and Grandizer (not sue if that was his Shogun name, just remember him from the cartoon). Any toy that can shoot missiles or fling axes from its hand is grade A!

    1. thank you. Yea some of this stuff is pretty obscure especially the items from before the 1970"s.I have to agree with you ,the shooting hand really made my Godzilla the my brother and me enjoyed playing with for years after most kids had given up on him. It also helped that it shot so hard it could give you a black eye.

  3. Excellent list. I agree with Dex, a few figs I've never seen, but that's what makes this list great! Not the typical stuff I expected to see here. Keep looking though - chances are if you keep at it you will find them for less!

    1. Thanks!I do tend to be drawn to the non typical. I like my pop 80's toys as much as the next guy but there really is only so far you can go with thsm before you start getting bored and want something different.Ill never stop searching!

  4. Wow! What a list! You've got a bunch of stuff I've never even heard of, but I'll keep my eyes peeled for you. Don't give up hope on that Raydeen. I scored mine on eBay for $16 plus shipping (they usually go for about $100). So you can luck out if you keep looking.

    1. This list must really have some obscurity's if its things that you have never seen or heard of! lol yea if you ever spot any of these things at an unbeatably low price pick it up!You get out to more show than I do so you might find something I will never see.I like to think Ill catch Raydeen for $15 but Im starting to think it might take me 15 more years for it to happen.

  5. This is a great list. I actually sold a Sharktacon Gnaw about two months ago. I just bought a huge transformer lot and it was a beautiful toy. it was the first one to go! I kind of regret selling it!

    1. Thanks! People seem to really like the sharkticon. The last one I bought was in 2000 and I paid $15.00 but now they are like 65.00 or so in good shape.Someday I will find one at a decent price.

  6. I feel your pain on the "McDonald's problem" where you had that one that got away practically in your hand. You have a great list of very obscure stuff but I like all of it. I lost all my original 4 Real Ghostubsters and all my cool Cobra figures (Viper, Crimson Guard, Snow Serpent) in a flood and I came home from college to find my mom gave away most of my T.M.N.T. and G.I. Joe stuff along with my Ecto-1. Nothing's worse than having to rebuy stuff you already had.

    1. I lost a lost 75% of my childhood toys in a small shed fire when I was 15. At that time it didnt really bother me because I had moved on to something else(girls) now years later I realize what a loss it was.Luckily my parent are bigger pack rats then I am and never give anything away as long as it will fit in a rubbermaid tub. Rebuying things stinks because you always have to pay more for an old used toy then you paid for it was shiny and new.

  7. I'm still kicking myself for not choosing scratch when he was new on the shelf. As a kid I didn't like cats so i chose the fire fighting dalmation right next to him. Only if i knew!

  8. Hey now Hotspot is nothing to sneeze at, He is also pretty hard to find these days.I never saw scratch in store but I did see Shogun Triceraton who is just as rare as scratch and pretty ugly.
