After doing my top 10 movie list last week I discovered I enjoy making lists. This list is the top 10 items I want for my toy collection that currently I do not own and probably never will. Every item has a reason why I dont have it ranging from impossible to find to it cost as much as a car but needless to say these are the items that I lie awake at night thinking about getting lucky and finding in a thrift store or at a yard sale.
10.The Great Garloo manufactured by the Marx toy company in 1961 and he is just pure greatness ! He was $18.00 in 1961 but often sells for $500.00 or more today and I just cant afford him.
9.Sharkticon Gnaw I Have had a few of these in my lifetime but always ended up loosing or trading him off.Im not really a big Transformers collector but this guy just looks cool.I dont have him now because he seems to have skyrocketed in price in the past few years and I'm a cheapskate.
8.The Blank This is a very rare figure .Imposable to find and when you dolodate one it will almost always be over $400.00! He has been keeping me from a complete collection of Dick Tracy figures for years.
7.Giant Sof'Boy He's 24 inches tall limited to 200 pieces and nowhere to be found these days.
6.Big Loo manufactured by Marx toys for Christmas of 1963. He cost $10.00 back then but can sell for over $2000.00 now.I found this guy in a salvation army thrift store in 1984 for $1.50.I had already begged my mom for a GI Joe Firefly before we went in the salvation army and she made me decide if I wanted to a happy meal or if I wanted a toy that was missing its hand...wish I could go back in time and fix my decision .
5. Peteena made by Hasbro in 1966 .She is strange and uncommon...much like my collecting interests.
4. clash of the titans kraken made in 1981 by Mattel. My parents couldn't find him in the stores when I was little and wanted him for Christmas. I once held this magnificent beast for a few minutes in 1995. The seller wanted $20.00, I only had $15.00 and he said he would take the $15.00 for it but we were going to go to McDonald's after we left the flee market.... McDonald's my recurring bad decision .
3.TMNT scratch Hard to find and pricey .I like it but $200.00 is more then I will ever pay.
2. Mr. Machine made by Ideal Toys in 1960 and again in1978. This is one of the earlier toys I can remember having , as time went by he got broke then thrown away. The price isn't incredibly high on him but high enough to make it more than I can justify paying .
1. Shogun Warriors Raydeen Made by Mattel in the late 1970's He is 24 inches tall and the thing I want more then all the McDonald's food in the world. At this point in my life I would be happy to have any of the 24 inch Shogun Warriors but Raydeen is my favorite .I never had any of the Robots but me and my brother both had a Godzilla ( both from the same salvation army that I saw Big Loo) neither one of them are now in a condition thats worth looking at. I have never came across any Shogun Warriors in the wild but I look at them on ebay all the time and wish I could catch one at buy it now $15.00 .
Tako Tank but I have rambled off enough for now.
